How Our Guides Are Written and Reviewed

What the guides on this site are, where their facts come from, who checks them, and what that review does and does not mean.

What the guides are

The guides under /guides are plain-language general information about common legal documents in the states where Legacy Legal AI offers templates for them: what a document does, how it is signed, and the rules people most often get wrong. They are written for people deciding whether a self-help template fits a straightforward situation.

Where the facts come from

Every legal statement in a guide traces to one of two sources: the primary statutory text, of which we keep pinned copies of every section the site relies on, or the per-state signing rules built into the product's templates. Citations appear in the text so a reader can check them. We do not summarize the law of states where no template is released.

Guides that describe how a document is signed in a particular state are built from those same signing rules, so a change to the rules changes the guide.

How the guides are reviewed

Each Florida guide is reviewed for accuracy by attorneys from the Liu Estate Law Group, PLLC before it is published, and again when the law it describes changes or a reader reports a problem. Every Florida guide shows the date of its most recent review; the current review pass is dated October 5, 2026.

Guides for other states are not attorney-reviewed. They are written from that state's statutory text and the signing rules our documents use, they cite their sources so a reader can check them, and they carry no review attestation.
